masquerading n sneaking arnd n attempting to slp in the freezing train station n getting harrassed so many times.

by God's grace, we arrived in Padua safely and spent our time strategizing on how to sneak around the hotel receptionist. Well, in the end we lost. but it was nice visiting the quaint lil streets of Padua, beautiful shopfronts, really clean alleys and wonderful company.

Carnevale at Venice was a much more rowdy affair. the vibrance, dancing, music, noise, hordes and hordes of tourists, gloomy skies made it a bit stifling but interesting. the trip was a great distraction.
i finally got to see the gondolas, and the canal and romantic lil Venice.
somehow it's more commercialised than romantic.
We were harrassed countless times tho. I detest guys who are simply disrespectful of girls and treating us merely as sexual objects. those 'ice cream' guys irk me. anyhow, asian girls just attract attention.
Venice n Padua carried a much more friendly flavour as compared to Milan, and the people were so much more alive. I was so amused by these italians on the train (they actually got me to sing along with them...the song abt in the jungle the mighty jungle lalala) how adorable.
the hour n a half wait at the train station was a very different experience too. there we were freezing our asses off, and these 2 mexican girls came to sit beside us coz they were getting harrassed by a lunatic. the lunatic is this italian guy, whom clearly knows we can't understand him, mumbles on n on and was even rather worked up at times. pretty freaky but he kinda acted as our guardian angel by standing around looking threatening. he disappeared when our train came. ha.
