il dolce fare niente

my brain is so congested with organizational theories and their men - simon march barnard mayo, i'm bored stiff and have refused to carry on the self-inflicted torture for now. so i'm left to drift into my dreamy world, back to the world of unfolded blankets on beds and to those days of having nothing to do but to moan and to cry and trying to distract myself with baking huge raspberry cookies with the mix manda bought from the states during the winter? break.

oh gosh how i miss those times.

no unfolded blanket would represent the lack of marriageability.
wondering where's my next destination with no one to stop me.
cooking the meals, adding so much seasoning everything tasted good.
chairs breaking underneath me
tumbling onto manda after rolling off the bed
watching van giggle at her korean dramas
drinking fruit juice like a camel
hiding from the neighbour to avoid helping her throw her trash
walking to famagosta to get picked up for church
getting free rides on the tram because i just refuse to get a ticket
the endless cups of macchiato and cappucino
and the endless kinds of bread available so fresh n soft n crispy

anyhow, one of our visitors wrote this

"i spent my first night and last two nights in vanessa's apartment, an incorrigibly tight space which she shares with two other housemates. if i ever thought or said aloud that i had in tough in copenhagen in my humble student residence hall, i better put a foot into my mouth right now. the milanese summer just was not cooperative. landlocked and disturbingly devoid of greenery, the city provided a preview of what hell resembled in its better days. electricity was expensive by exchange student standards and as it had only gotten to a state of mad blood stirring hot within the last couple of weeks, the housemates decided not to invest in a fan. so you could only imagine the level of frustration I was swimming in most of the time. that being said, i think vanessa suffered much more than i did considering how irritable i was. as a host, she could not have been more gracious nor understanding and maybe i should have taken a leaf out of her 'keep sane in summer' manual. "

it wasn't just an incorrigibly tight space mind you.

hurhurhur, i can't believe i lived through all that
a smoking roommate (anyone who knows me knows i've a zero tolerance for smokers)
3 girls in the same room, same kitchen, same puny toilet, sharing everything, tolerating everything, withstanding every dirt dust skin hair littering gross habits of each other.

wohoho. by buddhist standards, I think 3 of us would have deserved to attain nirvana. lol meeeelannnnn, where art thou?
